You came into this world in a rush,
Your whole life was fast paced,
You never tired of playing soccer,
You have now won earth's final race.
The angels came and looked at you,
Decided Heaven needed you more,
You were called to be the leader,
Of God's children at heaven's door.
Though earth's playing fields are empty,
And the game for us has lost it zest,
We know you are running with the angels,
And we know they have picked the very best.
When the stars come out at night,
The sky seems to develop a glow,
There is not doubt in our minds,
It is your smile that makes it so.
Though our lives are lacking without you,
We all know you are jubilant there on high,
You fought hard with great determination,
And left the suffering with a triumphant sigh.
You overcame disease by escaping its grasp,
There are places it cannot follow along,
You grace the divine portals of heaven,
Filling the air with love, laughter and song.
You were always such a joy,
A special loving brother and son,
One day we will see you in heaven,
Here and there you will always be number one!!
We love you and miss you Jacob,
We send hugs and kisses heaven's way,
Reach out and hold them close to your heart,
We send them afresh day after passing day.
